Gracie's Big Adventures

Grandma & Grandpa came down last weekend to visit their favorite girl...

Then we packed up & took a mini-vaca to Evansville, IN to see Great Aunt Dolores from Pensacola. We spent two days & nights...Grace's first hotel stay. She did wonderful. Such a good girl. It was love at first sight for Grace & her Great Great Aunt!

We also got to stop & see Morgan & Huss...and their doggies Lucy & Barney.

Grace is weighing in at 8lbs. 9oz. She's gained nearly a whole pound in one week! Her newborn clothes are just starting to look a bit tight...0-3 a little big...Yea!

Weekend in Champaign, Flora, & 24

We traveled up to Champaign this past weekend...Andrew tested for the Urbana Police...we spent the night with Uncle Phil & Aunt Sharon. It was so good to see them & Ron & Lorri. Grace really liked her cousin Lorri! :)

While Andrew was testing, I met up with Zac, Jacque, & Reagan. Reagan is so darn cute...such a good girl. Jacque is expecting in early March. We went to Reagan's best friend, Conner's birthday party.

Jacque & I hit up Gymboree (shocker) while the boys & Reagan watched the Illini game.

It was so fun to spend the day with the Bridgeman's.

Maybe I don't mind bows! :) We spent the night in Flora at my parents house. John & Sara just happened to be there too! What a treat! None of us stayed longer than 12 hours but it was good to see them. I talked my mom into taking the first feeding (prepared bottle)...& it was wonderful!

Aunt Erika hosted a 24 party on Sunday night. This is Ellie's first lesson in baby care...the dreaded diaper change.

Jake checkin' out his cousin...I asked him what he thought of her bow...and he said it would be better if it was camouflaged.

We are just loving this little baby. She's so great. We were convinced that she is advanced for her age...smiling & trying to communicate, making eye contact....But I was reading in my What to Expect in the 1st Year book last night...and apparently she's normal! :) She's supposed to be doing all those things at 1 month. Oh...normal...and perfect! :)

Andrew isn't really into these girlie bows...and usually Grace isn't either. But this morning...while Andrew was sleeping (he worked midnight shift last night) I put on this adorable bow & she didn't mind it! Until...

She fell asleep & tugged it over her eyes...HELP!

Question: What do you know about baby acne? Grace's face has been broken out now for over a week. Is this going to go away soon? Can I do anything for it?

Great Grandma Vera, Pretty Girl, Just a Swingin'

We met Grandma Vera & Wanda today for lunch. It was a first meeting for Grace & Vera...

Grace is very lucky to have two great grandmothers.

Prior to church on Sunday...Grace was such a good girl all service.

She's been sleeping in her bouncer...only place she'll sleep for 3+ hours...This is how I found her early one morning.

She looks so small sitting in her swing. It keeps her happy for a little while...but mostly she likes to be held when awake...wouldn't you?!

Update: Grace was weighed again on Monday...Yea! She's back up to birth weight...7lbs. 12oz. ...which means she gained 6oz. in 6 days...She won't go to the doctor again until she's 2 months.
I had another blood check & my levels are great...Coumadin dosage is correct...I won't need to have it checked for 3 weeks.

Happy New Year!

We spent New Years Eve over at our good friends, John & Jessi's. Grace has plenty of boyfriends to choose from...Sam, Caden, Cy, Briar, soon-to-be Joshua...



Last night she chose Briar to be her boyfriend...and he was thrilled! Look at that smile! He's only 5 months older than her but double her size!
